
Alcohol Drugs & Smoking Policy
- Purpose
The Colonel Light Gardens Bowling Club (CLGBC) enforces an anti-smoking policy on the premises of the club. Smoking includes the use of cigarettes, or pipe of any kind such as e-cigarettes (vapes), e-pipes, e-hookahs and e-cigars. This policy is in line with the new laws – Tobacco & E-Cigarette Products Amendment Regulations 2023.
- Responsibility
Smoking inside the CLGBC premises is strictly prohibited. Smoking outside is restricted to two areas away from the clubhouse which are sign posted;
- The South East corner adjacent the shed and in the South Western corner adjacent the green shed (see Addendum A for images).
Venue hire patrons must adhere to this Policy.
2.1 Non-compliance
It is the obligation and responsibility of all club members to remind all bowlers, volunteers, officials, staff and spectators of this Policy and to ask that they extinguish their cigarette or move to the designated smoking area.
2.2 Breaches of the Policy – Reporting and Resolution
If a person persists in breaching the policy, the breach may be reported to the Executive and the CLGBC through its administrative committee members who reserve the right to further investigate the matter and make decisions in relation to the breach in accordance with the Code of Conduct and the Complaints and Grievances Policy and Procedure of the club.
If required the matter can also be referred to the Bowls SA.
2.3 Improper use of drugs & medicines
The CLGBC has a no tolerance policy in regards to a person entering the premises with illegal drugs or a person deemed to be affected by illegal drugs. In such cases a person will be asked to leave or be escorted from the property and questioned about safe journey home arrangements.
