Code of Conduct and Uniform Policy


  1. Purpose

Being a member of the Colonel Light Gardens Bowling Club (CLGBC) brings with it certain rights and responsibilities as it does external members, guests and visitors. Members of and visitors to the CLGBC are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct and to behave at all times in a way which upholds the values and good reputation of the CLGBC.

2.1 Code of Conduct

Members and Visitors have a right to:

  • Be treated equally and with respect;
  • Participate in an environment free from all forms of harassment and discrimination;
  • Have their privacy and confidentiality treated lawfully and with respect; and
  • Submit their views to the President or any member of the Board of Management provided this is done appropriately and respectfully;

Members of and visitors to the CLG Bowling Club must:

  • Behave honestly, with integrity and treat everyone with respect and courtesy;
  • Comply with the rules and WH&S requirements and practices of the CLG Bowling Club;
  • Not breach State and Commonwealth laws;
  • Behave responsibly and not motivate or incite violence;
  • Not discriminate against any person;
  • Refrain from behaviour that could offend or embarrass others;
  • Not physically or verbally harass others;
  • Comply with any lawful and reasonable direction given by someone who has authority to give the direction;
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality about dealings that any person has with the CLG Bowling Club;
  • Respect and use CLG Bowling Club resources in a proper manner;
  • Not carry any offensive weapon/s;
  • Not use offensive language or gestures;
  • Not provide false or misleading information in response to a request for information that is made for official purposes in connection with the CLG Bowling Club;
  • Not engage in rapid or excessive consumption of alcohol;
  • Not use illicit drugs;
  • At all times behave in a way that upholds the good reputation of the CLG Bowling Club;

2.2 Breaches of the Code of Conduct

Breaches of the Code of Conduct are to be reported to any member of the Committee. When and where required the CLG Bowling Club, through its committee reserves the right to make decisions and enforce fair and appropriate measures to resolve a breach of the Code of Conduct. 

Any reported breach of the Code of Conduct will be investigated, discussed and dealt with by the Committee and may result either a reprimand, suspension, revoking of club membership, or banning from the club for a set period of time or for life. Any serious breach of State or Commonwealth law shall be referred to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

2.3 Pennant Uniform 

TEAM WEAR as referred to by Bowls Australia (BA) / Bowls SA is all garments worn in pennant and above level competitions whereby participants are required to be similarly attired. Team wear is recognised under the following categories. CLGBC Pennant players must adhere to this uniform policy or will be ineligible to play.

Upper body: The BA logo must be placed on the right chest area of upper body team wear attire.

  • all shirts ( including sleeve, sleeveless, collar and collarless);
  • tops;
  • blouses;
  • t-shirts;
  • jackets;
  • vests;

Lower body: The BA logo must be placed immediately above the back right pocket or front right below pocket.

  • pants;
  • trousers;
  • pedal pushers;
  • culottes;
  • shorts;
  • skirts;
  • skorts;
  • slack suits;
  • skirt suits;
  • dresses etc;

Outerwear: The BA logo must be placed on the right chest area of outerwear attire.

  • knitwear
  • rainwear
  • wind jackets
  • windcheaters

Socks: When socks are worn with trousers, the BA logo is optional. When socks are worn with pedal pushers, culottes, shorts, skirts, skorts, dresses etc the BA logo should appear on the top area of the sock. When anklet socks are worn with pedal pushers, culottes, shorts, skirts, skorts, dresses etc the BA logo placement is optional, socks not displaying the BA logo must be blank.

Headwear: The BA logo must appear on the front or side of the cap. If the club, state, event or sponsor name or logo is placed on the front of the cap the BA logo should appear on the side/s.
