
Social Media Policy
- Purpose
The growth of social media has transformed how we communicate and provides opportunities to advertise the Club’s activities. The Colonel Light Gardens Bowling Club (CLGBC) uses a variety of platforms to communicate to both its members and the general public which abide by this Policy and is to be read in conjunction with the club’s Code of Conduct.

2.1 Posting on Social Media
Members of the CLGBC should remember that any commentary is not only a reflection of themselves but also of the club and abide by appropriate and safe use.
Engaging with and sharing content posted by our bowling club is encouraged and appreciated.
At all times, members should behave in a way that upholds the good reputation of the Club.
Social Media content will not include confidential information about any club member or patron.
All posts made by club members will refrain from using language that could offend or embarrass others.
Participation in social media posting that is free from all forms of harassment and discrimination.
2.2 Complaints/Grievance
CLGBC have a Complaints and Grievances Policy & Procedure which can be found on the CLGBC website.
Sharing personal grievances on social media rarely lead to positive outcomes. Harassing, threatening, discriminating against or disparaging any individuals, the CLGBC, Bowls SA and associated bodies, committees or the wider bowling community through social media will not be tolerated.
2.3 Personal Liability
Commentary on social media that is considered obscene, defamatory or libellous by any party, could result in personal liability and/or damage to the CLGBC’s reputation. Where necessary, the club will advise appropriate law enforcement of any violations of Commonwealth or State laws and regulations. If anyone becomes aware of any violation of this policy, it should be reported to the Club President as soon as possible.
2.4 Violations of Social Media Policy
The CLGBC reserves the right to investigate violations of this policy and with reference to the CLGBC Constitution and its rules and bylaws which may result in disciplinary action including the cancellation of club membership in line with penalties recommended under Bowls SA guidelines.
These guidelines have been developed so that CLGBC continues to share events, achievements and news with the public.
All club members acknowledge and agree to abide by this and all the club policies on being accepted into the club.
